What is the Participation Toolkit?
The Participation Toolkit (PT) is a white label, fully customisable, hosted mobile blogging community platform. Brands use the PT to customise, configure and manage a full-featured, engaging mobile blogging community. PT communities allow your customers to create and set the parameters for their own moblogs, send content from their mobile phones (images, videos or audio recordings) to their moblogs, organise posts with tags, and search, browse and comment on others’ contributions and much more. More than ever, people are using mobile phones to capture content (images, audio, video). The PT allows brands to aggregate this content and provide customers with an online home to talk to the brand and each other around a product, topic, event or service. It is a visual communication platform that creates a truly intimate relationship with and among customers.
Participation Toolkit Features
- Mobile phone content (images, video, audio) posted in variety of standard formats (e.g. JPEG, MPEG-4 and 3GPP)
- Content sent using three methods: MMS to phone number; MMS or email to email address; standard web browser form.
- Image manipulation: preconfigured manipulations can be performed to improve the clarity of an image.
- Tags are used to allow similar content to be grouped dynamically.
- Grouping content and search: The PT provides several ways to collect and explore content.
- Comments: Visitors and contributors are able to add comments to posts.
- Highlights: The PT allows posts to be highlighted by staff or community-appointed editors.
- Friends: Registered visitors are able to create a list of friends.
- Favourites: Registered visitors can create lists of their favourite content.
- Geomapping: site members can place their posts onto an interactive map with highly granular features
- Moderation: Inappropriate content can be removed by administrators and a quarantine or pre-moderation queue also can be used.
- Syndication: Content posted to your moblog community may be syndicated as RSS feeds.
- Advertising: The PT includes an advertising placement and rotation system.
- Analytics: The PT makes available a number of metrics in real-time
